What is a remote notary?

Remote online notarization (RON) is a 100% virtual means of signing and sealing US documents. It’s more convenient than in-person services and costs less.

Yes! Most states recognize RON. If your state doesn’t, we don’t process your transaction. We also support semi-virtual IPEN and RIN.

We utilize bank-grade online security. This includes password protection, 2-factor authentication, AI-powered biometrics, and knowledge-based authentication (KBA). We record all sessions and store them with advanced encryption.

Yes! We provide these hybrid services for states that only allow in-person electronic notarization (IPEN) or remote ink-signed notarization (RIN). We also provide RIN for apostilles and consular legalizations.

Onboarding and completing your first signed and stamped document takes about 10 minutes.

Yes! Notarize from your home, office, anywhere in the country, or anywhere in the world. If the document to be notarized has to be used in the US, it can be notarized by US Remote Notary. 

Yes! American Notarization provides compliant US notary and international RIN from anywhere in the world. No trip to the embassy or consulate is required, and we charge less compared to US embassy fees.

We accept any US government-issued ID, including Passports, Driver’s Licenses, State ID Cards, and Military IDs. We also accept government issued ID cards from over 200 countries.

Yes! We can verify and accept government IDs from over 200 countries.

You can specify your requirements in the beginning of session but you are connected to a remote notary based on notary availability at that time. Our in-house remote notaries are based in Maryland. 

Yes! All signers must onboard separately but can join the same live session at the same time. There’s no need for everyone to be in the same physical location.

Yes. We provide remote ink notarizations (RIN) and Apostille, Authentications and Consular Legalizations for international documents.

We can sign and certify everything from Affidavits to Power of Attorney, Living Trusts, Parental Travel Consent, Bills of Sale, Deeds, Loans, Construction Contracts, and more. Some of the documents are restricted based on individual state laws.

You can either upload your existing digital certificate from Identrust, if you have one or purchase a new one if you are a new remote notary. To purchase a Notary digital certificate from IdenTrust, follow these steps: 

 

  • Visit eNotary Programs | IdenTrust 
  • Click on Buy Now 
  • Select “ AUTHXPERTS LLC” from the drop-down menu 
  • Select “IGC Basic Assurance certificate” 
  • Select your plan term from 1-3 Years 
  • Make the payment and follow the prompts. Iden trust will verify your eligibility with your active notary commission and with information available with independent data sources. This may take 3-5 days from the day they receive your application. Please ensure to use YOUR FULL NAME on this application as it should match with your name on the platform. 
  • Once they confirm, retrieve your certificate as download and install on your profile at https://americannotarization.com. You will save the digital certificate on your PC as well as password protected key. Remember your password for using the digital certificate anytime you perform remote notarization on the platform. Do not share your digital certificate or password with anyone.  

Once you start filling up the application, the system will prompt you to upload your-

  • Valid notary commission certificate from the state of commission
  • Proof of your RON commission
  • E&O insurance policy
  • Digital certificate from Iden Trust
  • Notary Seal
  • Your signature with initials.

Once your profile is approved, you will attend training to use the platform.

No, it’s not the same as your ink seal although it has same information on it. You can purchase enotary seal from National Notary Association and upload it on the profile. We accept existing valid enotary seals as well.
